Square Terminal Australia

After a range of successful campaigns with various Square teams, across the globe our team won a pitch with Square Australia to be involved in the 2019 launch of their newest product, the Square Terminal. Seen as a competitor to traditional EFTPOS machines, Square was challenging the way small to medium sized businesses carried out point of sale operations, and wanted to create a video which executed on their simple mission — it’s out with the old, and in with the new.

The campaign was launched across TV, social media and radio and garnered a huge amount of success — with it’s run time even extended to air across the AFL grand finals, and used globally across socials in USA, UK, and Japan. The success of the campaign went on to win over 12 further campaigns with the wider Square teams.

My personal involvement in the Square terminal campaign included direct client liaison with the Square Australia team and global Square head office, creative concept development, production design supervision and briefing alongside our creative director, casting and location negotiations, crew management and scheduling across 2 days and 4 locations, on-set assistant direction and VFX supervision, and post production supervision — specifically pertaining to design, animation and visual effects.

Aside from the main video above, the campaign also filmed shorter cut-downs where we showcased the product within different verticals — a hair salon, and a retail store.
